DPG Energy Named National Finalist in Cleantech Open Global Forum and
Receives Cleantech Open Southeast’s 2014 Sustainability Award
Atlanta, GA., October 29, 2014 - DPG Energy, Inc., the only Georgia-based company selected to participate as a Semi-Finalist in the Cleantech Open Southeast 2014 accelerator program, was named a National Finalist and will now compete in the upcoming Cleantech Open Global Forum competition in San Francisco, CA November 12-13, 2014. DPG Energy was also named as a National Sustainability Finalist, receiving the Cleantech Open Southeast’ 2014 Sustainability Award.
Known as the “Academy Awards of Clean Tech”, the Cleantech Open Global Forum is the grand finale of a rigorous six-month business accelerator, mentorship and international competition specifically designed to find, fund and foster entrepreneurs with big ideas that address today’s most urgent energy, environmental and economic challenges.
“The sheer educational value of The Cleantech Open program and access to remarkable mentors – all proven experts in their respective fields who well understand the trials and tribulations of being an entrepreneur – has been, in a word, priceless,” said Bill Malcolm, president of DPG Energy. “The program has already added significant momentum in bringing our vision of renewable energy to reality: Empowering individuals and communities in rural areas worldwide to burn raw biogas from local organic waste and generate reliable on-site electricity.”
The Cleantech Open places significant emphasis on a company’s foresight and ability to blend clean technology with sustainable business practices, creating a triple bottom line across economic, environment and social initiatives.
“We are very proud to receive the Cleantech Open Southeast’s 2014 Sustainability Award,” said Rick Otness, Chairman & CFO of DPG Energy, Inc. “The Cleantech Open experience strengthened our resolve to integrate critical success factors across our business model that will minimize our environmental impact, promote renewable resources and positively impact the global community,” said Mr. Otness.
About DPG Energy, Inc.
DPG Energy, Inc. empowers individuals, small businesses and communities in rural and remote areas to generate and consume their own reliable, low-cost and clean on-site electricity, 24/7. Driven by a small, patented microturbine with only one moving part, DPG Energy’s multi-fuel distributed power generation solution also contains a proprietary technology allowing it to burn raw biogas from anaerobic digestion. These combined innovations eliminate the inevitable consequences of “dirty gas” corroding traditional internal combustion engines as well as the need for or expense of “scrubbing” equipment to cleanse the biogas prior to its being combusted.
Specifically designed and manufactured to meet nonstop (or intermittent) power demands and withstand harsh environments, DPG Energy’s combined heat and power (CHP) unit is ideally suited for small-scale livestock production and agricultural operations, craft breweries, small food processing companies and remote drilling rigs requiring up to 20 kilowatts (kWs) of efficient, uninterruptible and low-emission power. DPG Energy’s CHP units can also easily be coupled together to meet the growth or expansion of power requirements up to 80kWs. For more information, please visit http://www.dpgenergy.com
